Big Shot Music Group Celebrating 24 Years of Operation!

April 26, 2026, marks the 24th anniversary of Big Shot Music Group since its being established in 2002 by C.E.O. and Founder, Michael Oronde Wright, a.k.a. Mike Big Shot, and C.O.O. Andre Clarke, a.k.a. Big Dre The Decepticon.  The label was founded to finance and promote Big Dre’s latest artist he was producing at the time, Playa Azian.  By April 26, 2003, ironically exactly a year after Big Shot Music was formed, the label released its first full-length album entitled “Playa Azian – The One.”  By 2004, the label artist roster had grown with 5 more artists; D-Macc “The Hustla,” D-Fine “The Definition” (RIP), Roc Jones, Maskerade, and Eba (pronounce E-Bay).  By 2005 the label released “Playa Azian – Version 2.0” and had completed an album by D-Fine self-entitled “The Definition” but was never released.

Big Shot Music took a brief hiatus from late 2005 to mid 2007 coming back strong after signing a distribution deal with Fontana Universal and releasing a single entitled “She’s Hot” by a group called Rogue Souljahz produced by, then super producer, Fingazz, that hit #2 on Billboard’s Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Single Sales.  In 2008, Big Shot Music was briefly signed to Red Distribution, also known as “SonyRed,” but never released any projects before signing to the then new formed EMPIRE Distribution in 2010, which the label is still distributed by to this day.

On EMPIRE, Big Shot Music has released countless records.  The most notable are the “Only God Can Judge Me” album released in 2011 by Cold 187um from the iconic group, Above The Law, formerly of the legendary Ruthless Records, and “Came From Nothing” by Edai 600 (RIP), who is credited for creating Drill music.

To celebrate this year’s milestone, C.E.O. Mike Big Shot will be releasing unreleased music from Big Shot Music’s early years by D-Fine, D-Macc, Roc Jones, Maskerade, and Eba entitled “Reflection,” an album tribute to the labels early humble beginnings to the longevity of continued success to date.  Stay tuned as that album is tentatively scheduled to release on the date the label was founded, April 26. 

Big Shot Music Group Lauches Film Distribution Division with Silver Line Entertainment.

Big Shot Music Group signed deal with independent film distributor, Silver Line Entertainment, to serve as the company’s film distribution division.  Silver Line Entertainment tremendous momentum and success in the film distribution space, distributing over 200 titles to outlets such as Tubi, Amazon Prime, PlutoTV, BET, Lifetime, and Fawesome.

Expect two films releasing in 2026 from Big Shot Music via Tubi entitled “Love Imbalance” and a 4-part mini-series entitled “Road Trip.”  Also expecting to release by mid-year is an in-house produced 4-part mini-series entitled “Pajama Money” and a full-length action crime movie entitled “Lies of Thieves.”

Big Shot Radio Signs with Mediabase for Airplay monitoring.

Big Shot Music Group’s, Big Shot Radio, LLC, signs with leading airplay monitoring giant, Mediabase, that tracks radio station airplay in the US and Canada.  After a year of talks and 2 years of being placed on Mediabase’s “Consideration List,” both WBIG-Big Shot Radio and sister station, WBRJ-Bayshore Radio were accepted.  Big Shot Radio is the first to be monitored in the Urban genre as “WBIG-ST.”  Bayshore Radio will be monitored in the R&B genre as “WBRJ-ST” shortly.

Mediabase provides comprehensive data, analytics, and charts to radio programmers, record labels, and media professionals to monitor song popularity and listener trends.

Big Shot Radio & Bayshore Radio Signs with iHeartMedia.

Big Shot Music Group’s popular online radio station, Big Shot Radio, LLC has recently signed with iHeartMedia to have both WBIG – Big Shot Radio and sister station, WBRJ – Bayshore Radio onboarded to iHeartRadio’s streaming platforms.  After years of consideration, as iHeartMedia practices extreme measures in onboarding independently own internet radio station to their streaming platforms, high ranking officials in iHeartMedia finally offered the deal to Big Shot Radio, LLC after certain criterias were met.
